Technical Guide to Paper Masking Tapes

Choosing the right masking tape depends primarily on the operating temperature. A standard 60°C tape is perfect for construction and DIY. For professional automotive painting, 80°C tapes are required to withstand drying cycles in spray booths. 100°C models are designed for extreme industrial cycles and oven-cured painting, where the adhesive must maintain its integrity without baking onto the surface.

Unlike budget products, our masking tapes use a natural rubber (solvent-based) adhesive mass. This technology provides a much higher "tack" (initial grip) on difficult surfaces such as metal, plastic, and rough walls. Natural rubber also ensures clean removal without residue, provided that the removal times and temperature limits specified for each model are respected.
To achieve sharp paint lines, it is essential to apply the tape to dry, clean surfaces, applying light pressure to the edges. When masking painted walls, it is recommended to remove the tape while the paint is still slightly damp or, if dry, to pull it away at a 45° angle with a steady motion to prevent the paper backing from tearing.
